At Engram, we believe your code is your intellectual property. Our entire architecture is designed around the principle of Local First, Privacy Always.
We do not collect, store, or transmit your source code. The Engram extension operates entirely on your local machine. The semantic index (vector database) created by the extension resides on your hard drive and is never uploaded to our servers.
All AI operations, including embedding generation and context retrieval, are performed using the computational resources of your device (CPU/GPU). We support local LLMs (like Ollama) to ensure that no code snippets ever leave your local network.
We believe in total privacy. We do not collect usage data, crash reports, or any other telemetry. Your usage of Engram is private to you and your machine.
